Every day, 2,000 children initiate a life-threatening habit. Tobacco addicts people for life and disproportionately affects minority populations. It endangers the innocent and harms babies in the womb.

Tobacco is our nation's leading cause of preventable death, and the American Legacy Foundation is the only national foundation dedicated exclusively to fighting it.

Our programs are working to engage all Americans in the dialogue about tobacco and to foster an understanding about its harmful effects. And every day, we're demonstrating that the fight against tobacco is a fight we can win.
